What it does
Shave Oil is a pre-shave oil. It softens your whiskers and puts a slick layer between skin and blade, so the razor glides instead of dragging. The result is a closer pass with less tugging — particularly welcome if your skin feels sensitive after shaving. Use it on its own or under Shaving Cream.
How to use
- Wash your face with warm water, or shave straight after a shower.
- Massage a few drops into damp stubble.
- Leave it a moment, then apply shaving cream over the top — or shave on the oil alone for a quick tidy-up.
- Rinse with cool water and finish with Post Shave Balm.
Scent
Century — blackcurrant, apple and bergamot, softening into jasmine and oakmoss on a warm vanilla base. Fruity, rounded, easy to wear.
Willow — black truffle and ylang lifted by bergamot and blackcurrant. Earthy, refined, a little darker.

Questions
What does pre-shave oil do?
It softens the hair and adds slip, so the blade glides over the skin. That means less pulling and a more comfortable shave.
Can I shave with just shave oil?
Yes, for a quick tidy-up or touch-ups. For a full shave, most men prefer oil under a cream for extra cushion.
Is shave oil good for sensitive skin?
It’s designed to reduce friction, which is what usually makes shaving uncomfortable. If you have very reactive skin, patch test first.
Does it clog razors?
Rinse the blade under hot water every few strokes and it won’t build up.
